Ecological Risk Assessment

Nunavut Environmental Consulting and its partners support ecological risk assessments conducted by the Azimuth Consulting Group based in Vancouver, BC.

 

Primary tasks incorporate:

• Assessment of site habitats including vegetation health

• Assessment of wildlife baseline conditions, particularly for rare and endangered species

• Determination of suitable Wildlife Receptors of Concern (ROCs)

• Development of terrestrial habitat assessments

• Contributions to comprehensive Ecological and Human Health Risk Assessments

 

Both Agnico Eagle Mines’ Meadowbank Gold Project and Areva's Kiggavik Uranium Project have required Ecological Risk Assessment involvement from Nunavut Environmental, including tissue collection (e.g. caribou, small mammals, lichen) and ROCs determination.
